About

Globally, more than 2.1 billion homes and businesses have no access to clean and affordable electricity for sustainability. In Africa, over 600 million people are without access to electricity. The population mostly affected by this dehumanizing situation are mostly women and children. SGI, a Canadian start-up partnership with the banks and the telecoms in Nigeria, is implementing a unique business model that drives energy and financial inclusivity as a combination service to the people. SGI has designed solar powered products including solar powered kiosks embedded with devices that enable business owners to generate multiple streams of income in one spot. Our solar powered kiosks are embedded with devices that power the infrastructure for energy and financial inclusion. All products are installed and serviced by our RURAL WOMEN TECH SQUAD. In a bid to fight the vicious cycle of poverty, SGI has championed an all women technical training academy where women are trained and well kitted to provide solar installation and after sales services to our numerous customers. SGI partners include: ALL-ON/ Shell foundation, Sapele Power PLC, GSMA, UN-Lightning global Africa, IFC, GOGLA, Power4All ,etc... SGI has raised over $5M.
