About

Every community should have access to local, high quality fresh food. The demand for healthy fruits and vegetables is doubling worldwide because the middle class expands and the population grows. Meanwhile, water stress and extreme temperatures decrease yields in open field farming due to climate change, putting pressure on food security. We see Indoor Farming as the ideal solution to provide a controlled climate and higher yields. However, labor availability is shrinking caused by urbanisation and an ageing population. SAIA believes that in order for Indoor Farming to become accessible and affordable everywhere, we need to take the leap towards Autonomous Indoor Farming. We designed automation and plants that have been made for each other. For improved food security and better jobs.
