Romande Energie Holding SA is a Switzerland-based holding company engaged in the production and distribution of electricity. The Company operates through its subsidiaries and affiliated companies. Its subsidiary Romande Energie SA distributes, together with Societe electrique Vevey-Montreux, Societe des forces motrices du Grand-St-Bernard, Societe electrique de Champery Val-d'Illiez and Romande Energie Renouvelable SA, electric power to the Vaud, Valais, Fribourg and Geneve cantons in Switzerland. The Company's subsidiaries further include Effitec SA, which assures the security of the electrical installations within the Company's buildings and neo technologies SA, which maintains the information technology services of its partners, among others. The Company's main shareholders as of December 31, 2009, were the Canton of Vaude and the local governments of the Vaude canton.
