We harvest clean, safe drinking water from air.
Majik Water harvests drinking water from air using desiccant materials to adsorb water and solar thermal heat to release this for collection. Our proof of concept can generate 10 litres of water in 24 hours.
We use desiccant technology to generate clean, safe drinking water from air in arid and semi-arid regions.
We are based in Kenya and tackling the ever-growing issue of drought. By combining pre-existing technology we have a created a proof of concept which can generate 10 litres of water in 24 hours. We are now designing our next prototype which will reduce the cost substantially by using direct solar thermal energy and will be larger scale. Our go-to-market strategy is unique as we are following a PAYG per litre model greatly expanding affordability for rural Kenyans. We were featured in the Financial Time's '50 ideas to change the world, were incubated at Singularity University at NASA Ames in Silicon Valley' and won first place in EDF's inaugural Pulse Africa start up awards.
