About

In the coming decade, Africa faces two significant challenges: producing nutrient-rich food for the growing population and managing environmental pressures from current food production systems. InsectiPro believes insects are an innovative solution to close these gaps. We develop insect-based food, feed, and organic fertilizer for low-income populations in Kenya and neighboring countries, offering environmental and nutritional benefits. InsectiPro rears Black Soldier Flies (BSF) for animal feed and organic fertilizer, and crickets for human nutrition. We upcycle organic waste using BSF, producing 5 tons of larvae and 50 tons of organic fertilizer monthly, recycling 30-100 tons of waste across all our sites. We produce 300 kg of cricket products monthly, offering affordable, high-protein options for human nutrition. To date, we have upcycled over 20,000 tons of waste, worked with 20+ waste partners, indirectly employed 500+ women and youth, and trained 4,000+ farmers, 48% being women.
