About
For battery and car manufacturers struggling with sustainable nickel sourcing, Genomines produces carbon neutral nickel by using genetically-enhanced hyperaccumulator plants. We grow our plants on nickel-rich soils that cannot be mined economically by conventional technologies and are unsuitable for traditional agriculture, unlocking untapped reserves representing up to 3 times the current global production of nickel. Our proprietary biotechnology enables us to produce battery-grade nickel at cost of production 50% lower than the forecast median cost expected in 2030.
We integrate the existing nickel value chain by developing nickel farms, producing nickel-rich bioconcentrate which is then refined into nickel sulphate hexahydrate for battery manufacturers. The nickel we produce is sold through long-term offtake agreements. By converting unusable land into productive assets, we reduce reliance on traditional mining while supporting the transition to a cleaner mobility.
