About

What is the most cost effective advanced battery factory? The one that is already built. Enzinc has developed a zinc-based battery that can be built in an adapted legacy lead-acid or NiCd factory at 1/20 the cost and in only 6 months. The resulting battery is an alternative to lithium or sodium batteries with the same energy as LFP/Na-ion, is safer (no fire), wide temperature range, wide supply chain (4th most mined metal on the planet), and is 95% recyclable. the benefit to the battery manufacturer is a 9X MOIC, 20% margin increase and not just the preservation of their existing CAPEX, people skills, and market share, but an expansion into other applications. The core technology is a US Navy invented zinc-microsponge anode that enables zinc to have lithium-like energy and long cycle life. The technology is vetted by an ARPA-E ward and 5 years of development from coin cell to full scale. Enzinc is working with five legacy battery companies with Joint Development Agreements.
