Composad is the furniture division of the Saviola Italian industrial group created in 1963. In a logic of vertical and horizontal integration, the Saviola group synergistically integrates several national and international companies into four business divisions : chemicals (formaldehyde glue), wood (ecological melamine-faced particle board), furniture and biosciences) for a total turnover of 580 millions Euros. The founder, Mr Mauro Saviola, bet on recycled materials for his particle board manufacture in 1997. He was a pioneer of the circular economy which is for us simply in our DNA. It impacts on all company policy, strategies, plans and economic decisions. Planning, production, procurement of resources, product life and end-of-life are all fundamental to Saviola, and are all connected to give life to a truly Eco-Ethical company. Saviola group is the leading transformer of wood waste in the world, with a recycling capacity of 1,5 million tons of post-consumer wood a year. The production model is based on the recovery and reuse of secondary raw materials tha can live again by the employment of an economically and ecologically sustainable process. This process is unique inthe world. Our technologies are able to process all the collected wood waste (packaging, manufacturing scraps, broken furniture, construction material...). From this process, the Ecological panel came into being, the only one entirely made from post-consumer wood. It was the first and only FSC certified 100% recycled wood panel (wether plain or melamine-faced, fire-resistant or water-resistant). The Ecological panel has always presented lower formaldehyde emission values than those permitted levels, even before the E.U established the E1 class. The LEB Ecological Panel in particular has the lowest formaldehyde emissions of any panel in the world. We recycle 4 million cubic meters of post-consumer goods in a year (the equivalent of 25 times The Colosseum), and 15.000 tons of iron (the equivalent of 2 Eiffel Towers). It means that we save 10.000 trees per day (more than 80.000.000 trees saved since 1992). By saving trees, we capture the equivalent of 1.300.000 CO2 tons in a year. Saviola group is number one in the world for recycling and upcyling wood. Desing and beauty arise from scrap materials. The group's strength not only lies in the transformation of a post consumer material into a new product, but also, and above all, in the aesthetic excellence of the final object. Thanks to its special Research Centre located in Frankfurt, the melamine-faced panels by Saviola, have become the benchmark in the world of style and interior design. Composad make all of its furniture from 100% recycled wood. Established in year 2000, in a few years, Composad became the top italian manufacturer of RTA furniture. Our mission is to export a new example of "Made in Italy" all over the world, twice eco-sustainable from both the ecological point of view and from the economic one.
