Global data is growing exponentially and experts estimate a 5X growth by 2025. The rapid growth is due to the increase in high-quality video production, digital health technologies, Blockchain and smart contracts etc. The consequence is that the data has to be stored somewhere - typically in data centres. Currently, data centres consume about 2% to 4% of the global energy production, and, at the current rate of growth, 10% to 20% of the global energy will be required by 2025. Swiss Vault is addressing this problem by designing the next-generation data management systems that reduce energy consumption and space utilization. By building long-lasting modular systems that can be repaired, repurposed, or recycled, we reduce the environmental impact.
