Identification

Virtu represents a whole new category of solar technology enabling businesses and organisations around the world to lower operating costs and produce substantially more sustainable, on-site energy from the space available. VirtuPVT is a high energy density solution providing combined solar heat and power in a single elegant product. VirtuHOT is aimed at high heat use and higher temperature applications. The flexible, attractive design allows for rooftop, ground and building facade installation. Virtu benefits from a unique modular design, generating both solar heat and power from the available space. Using the same collector for combined heat and power production means reduced cost of materials and installation, improving returns and enhancing asset values. Some applications, such as solar cooling, require much higher output temperatures, addressed by the complementary range of VirtuHOT solar collectors, using the same design architecture and high-performance vacuum technology.

The environmental benefits

•A single VirtuHOT tube has a peak thermal energy capacity of 400W, equivalent to 615W per square meter of roof space - Based on average irradiation and CO2 emissions offset this equates to 62 Kg of CO2 per annum for each tube installed
•By 2029 Virtu tubes could be offsetting 236,312 tonnes of CO2 annually if business plan sales targets are achieved
•The embedded Caron in a VirtuHOT tube will be recovered in just 1.35 years.

The Financial benefits

•Payback ranges from less than 4 years to 8 years translating to an IRR that can be as high as 36%
•Users can achieve a much higher degree of energy independence by installing Virtu compared to putting PV on the roof of a building (50% versus 20% or less depending on the location and use of energy)
• Compared to PV, Virtu demonstrates at least 50% better net savings and up to 300% better CO2 offset
