APROMUD - Super absorbent polymers for sludge dewatering process

Super Absorbent Polymers that can solve issues related to sludge confinement, water absorption and retention, waterproofness, and gelation of liquids.

While Super Absorbent Polymers (SAPs) have been widely used in personal hygiene products, due to their hydrophilic nature, they also fins large use in a wide variety of environmental applications that require separation of water from an emulsion. Indeed, SAPs play a crucial role in wastewater containment, wastewater odour-reduction, sludge and mud solidification, as well as soil-enhancement. As a result, APROMUD plays a crucial role in the remediation industry, thanks to its unique swelling property it facilitates the adsorption of water allowing for an effective, rapid and economical solidification of the sediments. A practical example of the use of this Solution would be the dewatering of a contaminated lagoon where the wastewater is collected and then disposed off-site, and the sludge solidified and treated. Among the major advantages, the Solution allows to reduce the volume therefore reducing the transportation and disposal costs, as well as CO2 emissions.
