Identification

The Blue Barriers are an award-winning solution to solve Ocean plastic pollution, by collecting it from rivers BEFORE it even gets to the Ocean. They use the water flow to accompany plastic litter towards a collection basin on a side of the river, where it can be easily removed and directed to recycle. They allow boat navigation and guarantee no impact on river life. Designed to resist any river condition thanks to stainless-steel cable structure, they represent a permanent solution to dramatically reduce the quantity of plastic reaching the Oceans. As recent studies prove, about 80% of plastic gets to the Ocean from rivers. The Blue Barriers collect about 100% of that plastic in std conditions, improving the quality of life of the local population, reducing the risk of flooding due to waste mismanagement and protecting important industries like tourism and fishing.
