Identification
To meet the climate objectives, we must move towards a sustainable energy model which reinforces the use of renewable energy sources. However, solar and wind power only produce when the wind is blowing, or the sun is shining. This causes grid instability due to loss of system “inertia”, which ultimately impacts energy supply to consumers. Electricity is difficult to store on a large scale; production must always be at least equal to consumption. Without a mass storage solution, renewable energies have no future. OXTO ON is a flywheel and this Solution will lead the stability of inertia of the system, fostering renewable integration and electrification of transport. A flywheel is considered a mechanical battery that stores kinetic energy in the form of a rotating mass. It is a truly sustainable solution to the challenges of decarbonising power generation and transport industries. Three markets are targeted: Grid stabilisation, EV-charging industry, Building/Trains energy recovery.
