Evee is a peer-to-peer electric car sharing platform. It brings down the cost of owning an EV and provides rental income for the owners, whilst allowing travellers to rent an EV wherever they go, making their drive more sustainable. There are currently over 100 cars on the platform, with a wide range of models including Tesla models 3,X and S, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, MG ZS EV, Mini Electric, Mercedes EQC, Polestar 2, BYD e6 and many more. The solution is often referred to as the 'Airbnb for EVs' and is passionate about making electric cars more affordable and accessible for all, whilst ensuring to contribute to a safe climate future.
The Environmental Benefits
- •With the average evee car rental travelling 160km a day, each hire saves 12.8kg of direct CO2 emissions from going into the atmosphere
- •Car providers earn up to $2,000 AUD/month by sharing your car with others
- •Electric cars have an emissions factor of 0.17g compared to 0.251 for ICE cars (based off 2018 Australian figures)
- •The total life cycle emissions from an ICE car and an electric car in Australia were 333g of CO₂ per km and 273g of CO₂ per km, respectively (using average grid electricity)
