Carwatt by CARWATT
Implemented by Air France in Paris (France) in 2017
Air France partnered with Carwatt in 2017 in an effort to reach carbon neutrality in its ground operations by 2030. This partnership combines electrification and the circular economy with, in particular, the transformation of old thermal-powered baggage carpets into electricity-powered baggage carpets using second-life Li-ion batteries. Since 2019, 30 baggage carpets, passenger bridges and aircraft tractors have been retrofitted.
