InsectiPro utilizes BSF to convert organic waste into valuable resources producing protein-rich inputs for animal feed and frass fertilizer, enhancing soil health and diversity. BSF larvae can replace traditional feed inputs such as fishmeal and soybean meal, which are costly to produce and frequently imported. Utilizing 1kg of BSF larvae in feed formulation has the potential to substitute ~2.59kg and 3kg of soybean and fish meal in poultry production. This substitution potential in Kenya alone could displace 14% of soybean imports and free up enough fishmeal to feed 720,000 people annually. Additionally, using frass fertilizer could significantly lower carbon emissions by 310,000MT and enrich soil quality, potentially increasing food production to feed 7 million more people each year in Kenya. InsectiPro also champions crickets as a sustainable protein source boasting 2x more protein than beef, 4x more iron than spinach, more B12 than salmon and a good source of prebiotic fiber.
