Transgourmet wanted to test reusable packaging to replace single use polystyrene crates for seafood products transportation. They had 3 motivations : environmental impact, legislation and restaurants requirement. We began a test in July 2019, until Covid pandemic that stopped all food delivery to restaurants for months. We started again our collaboration in May 2021 after Covid, and since, the collaboration grows month after month. Transgourmet decided to extend the service to fruits and vegetables in 2021.
We measured our impact and the use of a Pandobac crate is 4 times more ecological than a disposable box, on CO2 emission, waste production and water consumption. For this use case with Transgourmet, it represents 25 tons CO2eq saved, 13 000 L of water saved, and 8 tons of waste saved. From the economic point of view : Pandobac is 30% cheaper than polystyrene crates.
The Pandobac service meets a real need to reduce packaging waste. It's clearly a commercial asset.

Pandobac offers the opportunity to switch from single-use packaging to reusable for B2B food delivery. It is a turnkey solution including reusable crate rental and additional services to ensure reuse.
