HelioRec® builds floating solar power plants for nearshore locations where half of the world's population lives. The floating solar power plant (FSPP) is offering the unique capability of installation in areas with wave heights of up to 2 metres at an economical cost. The main component of the FSPP consists of three parts: - The floating platform, designed by HelioRec and incorporating our core, innovative and patented technology "hydro-lock", manufactured in the EU, mainly in France. - The moorings that secure the floating platform to the seabed or shore. - PV equipment (solar panels, DC cables, conduits, etc.) is purchased and installed on the floating platform. Once installed on the water, the FSPP will generate clean electricity and save CO2 for customers without occupying any land space.

The Environmental Benefits

  • Stability on the wave with "hydro-lock" feature
  • Higher efficiency by 10-20% in comparison with solar land-based instillation
  • Stackability feature - reduce transportation cost and amount of fuel by 50%
  • Saving land space 10 000 m2 (for 1 MW power plant)
  • Saving 475 tons CO2 using circular economy approach and clean electricity production in comparison with gas-based electricity generation (for 1MW power plant)

The Financial Benefits

  • 7 years payback
  • 143 390 euro savings/year for customers on electricity cost
