Heating and cooling buildings is a basic necessity for modern life but is a hugely energy intensive process. The GeoTerre Geothermic Wall is a new type of surface geothermal probe offering cheap and low emission cooling and heating buildings. The Solution is compact, fast and easy to install with a small digger for free cooling and heating. It uses the ground temperature at 2-5 metres below ground where temperatures are mostly constant all over the year. For locations where the average yearly temperature is less than 16°c, the Solution can provide cooling during summer without using HVAC or traditional air-con system. The GeoTerre Geothermic Wall reduces complete cost of ownership, has a 100 year life time, has nearly no running costs and installation costs which are nearly the same as HVACs. This Solution can help eliminate the heat island caused by HVACs, and can deliver a 90% CO2 emission reduction compared to HVAC. It can be used in a wide range of contexts, including houses, small buildings, schools, colleges, small medic centers, small server rooms.

The Environmental Benefits

  • Geowalls installed over 1000 square metres of land can cool up to 4000 sqm of building delivering 77 kW of cold with next to no CO2 emission
  • Geowalls installed over 1000 square metres of land can heat up 2000 square metres of building
  • Due to longer product lifetime and lower energy use, CO2 emissions are 99% lower than conventional HVAC systems
  • Reduces the level of noise and can improve the indoor air quality thanks to reduced "dry / very cold" air from the HVAC systems

The Financial Benefits

  • 6x less expensive than an HVAC over an expected lifetime of 100 years
  • Up to €150 energy saving per year for a small unit
