The Dendronic process separates the three main components of wood: lignin, cellulose, and hemicelluloses which can then be used for various applications, such as sugar production, conversion to bio-chemicals and new materials. Underused materials such as agricultural waste, invasive species, sawdust and non-recyclable waste wood from the construction and demolition industries are targeted as raw materials. The goal is to enable the bio-based economy transition by reducing the cost of input materials for the bio-based industries through the use of low-cost waste feedstocks as well as increased valorisation from by-products.
