Heating and cooling represent 50% of the EU’s final energy consumption and 80% of the installed systems, such as gas boilers, use fossil fuels. EU’s regulations to reduce Greenhouse Gas (‘GHG’) emissions are pushing sustainable solutions in the market. In that context, heat pumps are the most efficient systems and are expected to become the preferred solution in the future. However, they are complex to install and have performance limitations. As a result, the current generation of heat pumps is expensive and not suited for application in existing houses. Blue heart heat pumps tackle these issues by generating acoustic sound waves that replace the cold circuit of a regular HP. Noises are reduced while the toxic refrigerants are no longer needed. The price is lowered and finally, the implementation in existing houses is facilitated thanks to the size reduction.
