Identification
This solution aims to raise awareness and foster greater participation from stakeholders of the civil society to climate change mitigation, thanks to economical and financial incentives.
Sustainable Community has been specially designed to reduce GHG emissions originating from small emitters of the industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. By creating regional clusters, this solution offers to these emitters the possibility to quantify and aggregate their individual reductions of GHG emissions, to sell them on the carbon markets. The GHG reductions mentioned above come from diverse sources of activities such as conversion and energy efficiency for buildings, valorization of waste and optimal usage of transportation for businesses. These carbon revenues represent an additional economic incentive for any government initiative that aims at establishing a price for carbon emissions through taxes, trading cap and regulations.
