MAN ETES stands for Electro-Thermal Energy Storage; it produces and stores heat, cold and electricity at a large scale. Therefore, it is the ideal system for the increasingly important "Sector Coupling", meaning the merging of energy suppliers and consumers. MAN ETES helps municipalities, institutions and companies to reach their goal of CO2 neutrality by providing a system that is completely environmentally friendly and decarbonizing. In contrast to the majority of the competition, this solution uses CO2 as a refrigerant, which is neither toxic to its environment nor flammable as well as inexpensive and easily accessible. Furthermore, the technology solution is powered by MAN's HOFIM® compressor with an integrated expander, which is hermetically-sealed and operating without lube oil. MAN ETES, with electrical inputs from 2 to 14 MW, can provide hundreds of MWh of thermal energy per day and unit with temperature levels between 0° and 150°C.
