Description

As a leading provider of agricultural technology solutions, Vogelsang supplies innovative equipment to farmers and contractors across Germany and Europe. By adopting the SyreN System developed by BioCover, Vogelsang identified an opportunity to reduce ammonia emissions during slurry application while improving nutrient efficiency. At the core of this initiative is the combination of proven slurry spreading technology with advanced acidification, achieved through the partnership with BioCover. This accomplishment is made possible by the dedication of Vogelsang’s specialist teams to manufacture, market and sell to their customers and to integrate the SyreN System into their daily operations and are committed to supporting more sustainable agricultural practices.

Impact & Result

By using precision fertilization with slurry (SyreN and e-missioN System System),  Hof Vogelsang reduces ammonia emission (50 %), resulting in reduction in  use of mineral nitrogen with +20 kg pr. ha. It also improves the plant availability of phosphorus with 40 % while using the Sulphur as a Sulphate fertilizer. This is reducing leaching of nitrogen to ground waters, airpollution from PM 2.5, protecting biodiversity and cutting CO₂ emissions with +200 kg ha.

Solution Spotlight

SyreN system stabilizes the slurry using the technique of acidification (sulphuric acid) to change ammonia (gas) to ammonium (salt) during application of slurry. This increases the fertilizer value of the slurry and generates a higher crop yield, and reducing the impact on the biodiversity.
