Description

Veolia and WAS Co completed an entrepreneurship project by building a library in Galeana, Nuevo León, using 1.6 tons of recycled plastic, the equivalent of 95,828 bottles. It is built with 50 panels of recycled plastic, forming a strong and durable structure. The panels are insulated to improve energy efficiency. The project involved 20 people from Veolia and WAS Co, with support from the community. “The opening of this library is a great milestone for innovation and sustainable construction. We seek to continue promoting projects like this that allow urban development hand in hand with social responsibility,” said Walter Mata, CEO of WAS Co. “We are proud to work with WAS Co to build this sustainable library in Galeana, while promoting social and environmental entrepreneurship in the country. This project is a great example that it is possible to join forces to create sustainable solutions that benefit communities. This space will make a real difference in the lives of the people of Galeana and is a testament to the fact that ideas can become projects and these in turn become a reality.” said Leslie Lamadrid, Marketing, Communication and Sustainability Director at Veolia Mexico.

Solution Spotlight

With a new constructive system, lego type, to reduce construction costs and construction time. We are in the process of applying for several patents of different polymer compounds that we have developed, as well as the new lego-type construction system that we design for the homes we are building. We work based on generating 100% sustainable products, with a short, medium and long term objective, as well as their reuse or recycling after use. For example, the homes we are about to build are based on recycled polymer compounds, with non-toxic minerals and other additives developed by ourselves.
