Description

Izeda's Fire Brigade in Bragança, Portugal, has implemented a 30 kWp photovoltaic system consisting of 60 PV panels through Kiplo Energy Communities, managed by the Cleanwatts® OS. This project aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs, resulting in a 20% decrease in energy tariffs. By addressing high energy expenses and reducing dependence on non-renewable sources, the initiative offers significant financial relief while also lowering the carbon footprint. The Cleanwatts platform facilitated every stage, from proposal to ongoing management. This adoption not only supports financial sustainability but also sets a green standard for public services, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term operational resilience.

Impact & Result

The Fire Brigade of Izeda will prevent the emission of 11 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually through this initiative. Additionally, the clean energy surplus generated will benefit the local community, supporting the equivalent of around 50 people, including families and small businesses in the surrounding area.
