Prologis
Moissy-Cramayel
In Moissy-Cramayel, France, Prologis implemented the Géostockage solution, developed by Accenta, to enhance sustainable energy management. The system features a geothermal collection network with 100 vertical probes, each 100 meters deep, and a geothermal heat pump optimized to harness subterranean thermal energy.
The system includes a heat pump that provides simultaneous heating and cooling year-round, supported by two aerothermal heat pumps for added efficiency. This solution addresses key challenges like reducing carbon emissions, cutting energy costs, and improving operational sustainability.
Prologis' adoption of Géostockage highlights a shift towards eco-friendly building management and renewable energy, setting a model for sustainable energy practices in the industrial sector.
With 27% of the French CO2 emissions, the building sector is a major contributor. Improving its carbon footprint is, therefore, a significant challenge, with a targeted effort on heating, which accounts for 75% of the emissions. This is a global issue as most developed countries display similar patterns. ACCENTA invented a low-carbon heating and cooling system that reduces up to 95% of the CO2 emissions compared to standard solutions. It relies on inter-seasonal geostorage and waste heat, from air-conditioners or low-carbon solar heat, produced during summer and stored into the ground. In winter, heat pump's yields are optimized by up to 50% using the stored heat, drastically cutting both energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
