City of Geneva
Geneva
The City of Geneva in Switzerland implemented the Solution in 2019 for the cigarette butt littering prevention campaign “Petit Voyou” (incl. a study aimed at and measuring, in the field, the litter leakage from the urban area into the environment) and extended it to urban sanitation management afterwards. A further project named “Geneva Clean City Lab” was led on one of Geneva’s seven districts to demonstrate quantifiable results.
The initiative led to a noteworthy 20% reduction in the operating hours of urban cleaning vehicles, demonstrating increased efficiency in operations and contributing to reduced wear and tear, fuel consumption, and overall environmental impact.
The solution supports cities in managing their sanitation department, by providing an accurate and real time monitoring of urban cleanliness. A clean city is more attractive and healthy. Less litter will end-up in the environment. Cleaning resources are engaged when and where necessary, based on the cleanliness level to be achieved, savings in energy, water and costs will be accrued.
