DECISIONX technology could save up to 1% emissions from commercial aviation, which currently accounts for 2% of global emissions. Periodic engine washing to remove contaminants like dust, sea salt and air pollution increases gas turbine fuel efficiency and service life, so less fuel is required to generate the same thrust compared to before the wash. SATAVIA's DECISIONX technology takes into account the history of each individual aircraft, correlates this data with global environmental contaminant modelling and predicts the rate of contaminant damage to the engine, and provides bespoke washing recommendations tailored to each engine. Maintenance recommendations can be prioritised based on historical or planned flight operations. The platform is scalable to calculate exposures for a single aircraft, a fleet of aircraft, or eventually, global aircraft operations.

The Environmental Benefits

  • Reduces commercial aircraft emissions by 0.5-1.0%
  • Saves almost 2 billion kg of carbon emissions each year

The Financial Benefits

  • Reduces fuel costs for aircraft operators
  • Savings up to $40m each year
