The Danfoss Turbocor® oil-free centrifugal compressors, which are specifically designed for the HVAC industry, use magnetic bearings, two-stage centrifugal compression, a variable speed permanent magnet motor and intelligent electronic controls. Its energy efficiency reduces operating budgets and helps shrink a facility’s carbon footprint, thanks to annual energy usage 30% to 50% less than conventional compressors. These efficiencies help contribute towards the IEA Efficient Cooling Scenario for 2050. Chillers are used almost exclusively in commercial buildings (like office buildings, hospitals, hotels, and data centres), large central systems in large residential blocks, and district cooling networks. Danfoss Turbocor® oil-free centrifugal compressors have the flexibility to be used in air cooled, water cooled or evaporative cooled chillers operating in wide range of applications such as comfort cooling, low temperature process, ice storage and heat recovery.

The Environmental Benefits

  • With a chiller capacity of 250 tons of refrigeration (TR), it can reduce the annual energy consumption by up to 270,000 kWh per year
  • Provide annual emission savings of up to 194 metric tons CO2 per year.

The Financial Benefits

  • Capacity range from 40 to 400 tons compressors for chillers and heat pumps.
  • Payback less than 3 years.
  • Extremely low maintenance costs.
  • Money savings made from energy savings.
