EP Tender is a battery service for extending the range of electric vehicles

Identification
The solution aims at decarbonizing the transportation sector, one of the the main contributors to global warming, by enabling mass market adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Our modular solution minimizes the environmental footprint of EVs while making them affordable, inclusive and convenient over long distances: traveling with peace of mind. A Tender is a powerbank, which is mounted on a small trailer, rented on demand and attached to EVs for long distance trips. From driver experience point of view, it is self-pairing with the car and self-steering when backing, providing a seamless user experience. When not attached to vehicles, Tenders can be used as energy storage solutions, zero emission generators or mobile EV charger for roadside recovery. This leads to a very high utilisation rate of our batteries: above 90%.

The environmental benefits
- •A Tender adds a range of 300 km in less than 2 minutes, 12 times faster than the charging time of premium electric vehicles
- •One Tender is shared by 20 vehicles, leading to an optimal use of natural ressources
- •Driving a vehicle with a 40 kWh battery and rent occasionally a Tender saves 8.9 tCO2 (lifecycle) compared to driving an EV with a 100 kWh battery
- •Enables car owners to switch from petrol vehicles to EVs: 21 tCO2 saved per vehicle (lifecycle)
- •As an energy storage solution, Tenders will enable an increase in the production of renewable energy in the mix

The Financial benefits
- •The reduction of the battery size of electric vehicles implies a sharp decrease in the purchase price of EVs: between 4000€ (for a 20 kWh reduction) and 10000€ (for a 60 kWh reduction) per vehicle
