SMO Solar Process - A solar processor to produce green hydrogen

SMO's mission is to address the challenge of producing clean, stable energy at an affordable price. SMO's technology is a compact and autonomous processor that uses the sun as its primary energy source to transform waste and/or biomass into green hydrogen and energy, with a negative CO2 footprint. SMO converts solar energy into powerful microwaves, which are used in synergy with thermosolar energy in each step of the process. Indeed, SMO offers the industry an innovative, very advantageous and flexible green hydrogen production. This production of green hydrogen is coupled with Carbon Capture technology allowing the absorption of CO2. A SMO site is made of independent units, allowing easy scale-up by simply adding units to meet local needs. Thanks to its modularity, adaptability, versatility and complete autonomy, SMO fits all types of areas. By using locally sourced inputs, SMO supports the circular economy.

  • Through an intermediate product, SMO can produce Hydrogen on demand and reach full capacity in less than 10 minutes.

  • 1 SMO units captures directly 3400 tons of CO2 and avoids another 6205 tons of CO2 annually, summing up to almost 10 000 tons of carbon offsets, corresponding to emissions of 5 300 EU cars annually
