PETROLSYNTH - Elimination of hydrocarbons and heavy metals pollution from water and soil with chemical-free solutions using a standardized mix of microorganisms
Hydrocarbon and heavy metal contamination is of great worry because of their widespread effect on all forms of life. Pollution caused by increasing the use of crude oil is ordinary because of its extensive application and its related transport and dumping problems. Environmental remediation is extremely important and involves the elimination of pollutants from soil, air, and water.
To meet this challenge, this solution is a microbiological bioremediation method to be used onsite. Through a specific mix of selected microorganisms and enzymes, the natural microorganisms populations present in water, soil, sludge, etc. are stimulated. By optimizing their functionality and processes, it allows to correctly and rapidly degrade hydrocarbon molecules, sequestrate and inertize heavy metals. Hydrocarbon is an organic molecule and is used by microorganisms as source of food. With PETROLSYNTH, hydrocarbon are degraded up to 95%-99% in 15-20 days. Heavy metals first sequestrated by microorganisms, then inertized via several strategies including chelation, inclusion in non-hazardous molecules, etc. PETROLSYNTH has achieved a reduction of heavy metals up to 85%-98% in 25-35 days, while being non-toxic and energy-free.
