Today’s storage solutions fall into two main categories, batteries and supercapacitors, which either perform well in energy density (batteries) or in power density (supercapacitors). But none is able to efficiently combine high energy and power performances, so as to meet new needs for combined fast charging and large energy quantity stored. NAWATechnologies is the only European company to have developed ultracapacitors that feature both high-energy density and high-power density, based on a breakthrough technology using Vertically Aligned Carbon Nanotubes.

The so-called NAWACap products are advantageous either as substitute to classic batteries and supercapacitors for application that require a short level of power providing a solution that can be 2 times smaller in size/volume/weight than existing solutions often oversize. Or it can also be stronger in hybridization to either batteries pack or Fuel cells stacks to create hybrid power supply units. By handling power peaks, NAWACap can significantly expand the battery life and improve safety. In an electric car for instance, an NAWACap can provide the power surge needed for acceleration, and recharge during regenerative braking (deceleration) phases. NAWACap is positioned in between classical ultracapacitors, where it is better in energy, and lithium batteries, where it is better in power. Our product is long-lasting (1 millions cycles), green, safe and more easily rehabilitated and recycled. NAWACap is the perfect solution for combining the power of ultracapacitors and the autonomy of a lithium battery or a fuel cell in an "hybrid system".
