KRÆKEN - A cloud-based fluid simulation software specifically designed by and for environmental engineers to solve hydraulic problems

KRÆKEN is a tailor-made 3D flow simulation tool for sewer system management teams. It helps them to reduce the environmental impact of cities on water quality and to increase resilience to flood event. By using KRÆKEN, cities around the globe will be able to improve the evaluation, monitoring and rehab of wastewater infrastructures worldwide, which will contribute towards more resilient and efficient urban areas through better informed urban planning. KRÆKEN is one of the fastest, most cost-effective and reliable simulation tools on the market thanks to a unique combination of technologies: a particular physic engine, an Artificial Intelligence acceleration module and a cloud-based user-friendly interface.

Key features

  • KRÆKEN´s main advantage is its speed when solving flow equations - up to x30 times faster than competitors in flood simulation and water management calculations, reducing the calculation time of a simulation from months to less than 1 week
  • The ability to model small and large structures with an error rate up to 15% allowing the user to use a single software in their studies
  • KRÆKEN will be compatible with the most common design and modelling software - capable to automatically extract data from different sources (e.g. CAD or 1D/2D softwares) to recreate 3D model
  • 40% reduction of polluted water discharge per city
  • Simulation and model consumption of energy reduced by 83%
  • Reduction of uncontrolled pollution discharged in natural water bodies by better management of sewer system networks

  • Reduction of 30% of maintenance costs by optimization of sensor uses and curative actions
  • 40% cheaper than mainstream alternative
  • Payback time 14 months on the analysis of complex sewer system structures

Maturity Stage

  • Medium and large scale commercialization
  • Small scale commercialization
  • Initial market commercialization
  • Prototype testing in the real world
  • Prototype testing 1:1 in the lab
