Identification
The problem Reforestum is trying to solve is the lack of trust and transparency in the forest carbon markets, without which investment in afforestation, reforestation and forest conservation will not scale to the tens or hundreds of billions of dollars per year required to sequester gigatons of CO2 and mitigate the worst effects of climate change. [Inefficiencies in the market include the many brokering agents involved in the retailing of certificates).
This Solution makes carbon compensation tangible, by offering options to support projects that are "close to home" and building digital avatars for projects. It adds trust through a technology stack, and by working with partners with decades of experience and a reputation in ecosystems restoration In this sense, it makes it easier than ever for corporates to integrate carbon compensation as part of their sustainability strategy, and to communicate those benefits to their customers, employees and investors. The tech features allowing it to do so are: a) MRV features to increase the trust in projects; b) transparent data sharing to provide more accountability from project developers about impacts; c) a corporate profile/community.
