Identification

The Enertime Solution harnesses unused industrial heat, transforming it into electricity through an innovative process known as the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC). This technology operates similarly to a traditional steam turbine, but it uses organic fluids with a lower boiling point than water, making it more efficient at lower temperatures. How does it work? Imagine a factory that emits heat as a byproduct of its processes. Instead of letting this heat go to waste, Enertime's ORC system captures it, using the heat to vaporize an organic fluid. This vapor then drives a turbine, generating electricity. The vapor is then cooled, condensed back into a liquid, and recycled within the system. In simpler terms, Enertime's ORC system acts like a recycling agent for heat, taking what was once waste and turning it into something valuable: clean electricity. It's a smart and sustainable solution that reduces industrial energy costs and carbon footprints, contributing to a greener planet.

The environmental benefits

  • Can achieve heat-to-electric conversion efficiencies of 15-25%, which is better than being vented or unused, this efficiency translates into a substantial reduction of electricity consumption for the factory having waste heat
  • Enertime's ORC machines range in capacity from 5 MWth to 50 MWth, a typical 2 MW ORC machine can convert around 8 to 10 MWth of high temperature waste heat into a substantial amount of electricity, enough to power around 1,600 average European households
  • Enertime's ORC technology can efficiently utilize heat sources with temperatures as low as 130°C for superheated water and up to 310°C for thermal oil, making it versatile for a range of industrial applications
  • On the European grid, by converting industrial waste heat into electricity, Enertime's ORC systems can reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 2,000 tons annually per megawatt of installed capacity
  • Enertime's ORC technology can increase the overall energy efficiency of an industrial plant by up to 20%, effectively decreasing the amount of fossil fuel needed for electricity generation and thus reducing the environmental impact associated with energy
  • Enertime’s ORC systems are capable of recovering waste heat from industrial processes, which would otherwise be lost to the environment, thereby considerably enhancing the total energy utilization of the facility and contributing to the circular economy
03.

The Financial benefits

  • Enertime's ORC systems deliver a payback within 3-8 years and reduce operational costs to just 2-3% of initial investment, ensuring long-term savings
  • A typical 3MW Enertime ORC machine produces non-variable carbon-free electricity with a LCOE of around 50€/MWh, the lowest from all non-variable co2-free electricity production solutions
