From France
Maturity stage TRL 7 - Prototype testing in the real world

Tidal turbines harness the energy of marine currents, created by the gravitational attraction of the moon and the sun, which induces several significant advantages such as: - unlimited and everlasting source of clean power; - reliable and predictable resource, allowing a precise estimation of available energy; - a worldwide distribution of the resource close to the shorelines. Prior to deploying the technology as part of large tidal commercial ranges, SABELLA promotes a short-term strategy to address current challenges faced by remote off-grid communities. This model is tailored for off-grid islands with fossil-based energy and is named the “Fuel Free Islands” model. By coupling multi-source renewable energy mix, like wind or solar, backed up with an energy storage system; this model is 5 to 10 times more competitive than fuel-based models. SABELLA promotes and spreads a new viable carbon-free and sustainable energy model.
