Identification

The Solution aims at providing an efficient, non-toxic and ecological cleaning equipment to medical device, mechanic and textile industries. This cleaning equipment replaces traditional cleaning solvents such as chlorinated solvents, alcohols or water + detergents by carbon dioxide CO2, which is collected as a by-product of other industries. Once put under pressure (over 73 bar) and heated (over 31°C), this gas becomes supercritical (SC) and is a good solvent for lubricants. This solvent is able to clean like a liquid but it can also penetrate in very in small holes and cavities like a gas would do due to its very low viscosity and surface tension. DFD equipment reuses CO2 several times during cleaning thanks to a continuous internal separation system. It also recycles about 80% of the CO2 at the end of the cycle. Supercritical CO2 has also well-known "pre-sterilizing" properties.
