SOPRA XPS is a highly resistant, highly moisture-proof, and easy-to-cut insulation. Made from up to 100% recycled materials, this insulation does not lose any of its insulating qualities. Ideal for all applications: roofs, walls, floors for indoors and outdoors, it can be used by an individual as well as a professional in new or renovation. The main objective of the SOPRA XPS solution is to provide a product recognized for its thermal performance and its specific characteristics but manufactured with a raw material that is largely recycled. And thus it offers a reliable, sustainable, and responsible solution for the planet while limiting its impact on the environment while giving a second life to already used products.

SOPRA XPS by Soprema Group
Implemented by Castel in Bordeaux (France) in 2022

On the one hand, Castel, a wine production company, uses glassine to affix labels on wine bottles. Once the process id completed, the glassine remaines as a non-recyclable waste product. On the other hand, the company Soprema developed a patented process that allows it to create wadding from recycled glassine.



The environmental benefits

  • Up to 50% reduction of CO2 emissions compared to previous standard production
  • Up to 75% reduction of CO2 emissions compared to 100% virgin PS production
  • Up to 100% recycled polystyrene (vs virgin polystyrene) use into formulation.
