The aviation industry has focused on modernizing their fleets both in the military and commercial sectors as ageing aircraft wiring is a predominant problem. As Aircraft operates in an extreme environment, they face many mechanical and electronics problems such as clamps getting bent out of shape, damaging the wiring insulation and causing electric shorts. Considering that some aircraft have up to 15,000 clamps, the time required to visually inspect every single clamp is significant and can lead to delays or worse, omissions. By using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, blended with Augmented Reality, this solutions aims to replace the old clamps with interconnected smart clamps. To meet the needs of the aviation industry, the Smart and Connected Claps solution enhances the performance of electrical systems thanks to the availability of real-time onboard sensor data. The system provides data on amperage leaks, electromagnetic interference, radiation, harmonic threats, temperature, humidity, pressure, and many more while correlating the information gathered to help the sensor network algorithms pre-diagnose and build databases for predictive maintenance.
