For electronic systems, new equipment must be purchased regularly due to partial obsolescence. This results in the generation of large levels of material waste and high financial costs. SCS's retrofitting service tackles this issue by partially upgrading public electronic infrastructure. Instead of having to purchase an entire new system, SCS's service allows the upgrading and integration of new functions into an existing system, such as through new software or specific components, whilst retaining the majority of a system's hardware. The solution can be applied to various city infrastructure, such as traffic lights, rail technology, ticket machines and more. When modernisation is needed, this service allows the upgrading of infrastructure whilst reducing material waste and increased the longevity of public infrastructure.
