Identification

Berthing supply shortages are a major challenge facing the recreational boating industry. The cost of building new marinas or expanding existing ones is tens of millions of dollars in construction and potential damage to sensitive marine ecosystems. Through optimisation it is possible to create new supply with no financial or environmental cost.

Pick a Pier's platform collects and processes data from multiple information streams while accounting for the diverse parameters of the berthing market in order to predict berth availability and automate the booking process. The data insights from Pick a Pier's technology enable marinas to predict future occupancy so as to better manage their resources and tap into new forms of revenue. Pick a Pier's triple win solution utilises sharing economy principles to offer solutions to the critical shortages in the berthing market as well as exclusive berthing offers for visitors; incentives and discounts for residents; and new revenue streams for marinas.
