PANDa is a miniaturised, portable and automated laboratory for in-situ detection of the most harmful and common heavy metals in water, addressing ecological and economical issues at the same time. It is easy to use and provides reliable real-time results for rapid decision-making. PANDa has been designed to completely replace expensive and time-consuming analytical technologies. Miniature systems, called Lab-on-a-Chip, are used in medical diagnostics for many years. Klearia has developed PANDa based on this Lab-on-a-Chip technology. The innovation was to develop such miniature laboratories with reusable materials (previous examples are disposable) thus responding to the recurrent needs of on-site and real-time water analysis in industry.
