A whole-home smart water system for real time water management and early leak detection

Identification
Scarce water and increasing costs is a problem that is growing steadily and has no slowing down in sight. In the U.S., water prices have increased 41% since 2010 and continue to grow at 6% per year. Worldwide, it is estimated that 30% of all in-home water use is wasted because of leaks in faucets and toilets and people's poor water use habits. People tend to ignore both of these conditions because they don't know the amount wasted. Our system will be able to quantify and alert the homeowner of the waste as it's happening in realtime. Also, in the United States over 40% of homes have filed a water leak claim with averaging approximately $9000. Water leaks are the 2nd most frequent insurance claim. Our system will detect leaks early and stop it quickly with our motorized water valve.
The Intellecy BluView is a smart water system that provides two major benefits: 1) saving water by managing water use in real-time and the reduction of wasted water and 2) leak protection by providing complete leak detection coverage of the structure and remote water shut-off. BluView is a smart home/IoT system using a highly reliable static, non-intrusive sensor and machine learning technology to monitor and measure water flow in realtime. BluView detects water leaks, big or small, anywhere in a home or building. It can help minimize damage by enabling the user to shut off their water remotely from their smartphone or from the web-based dashboard. Our machine learning helps the user know their normal usage patterns, set conservation goals and track their savings. BluView alerts the user of abnormal high use to prevent water bill surprises.
