Description

The municipality of Shawinigan called upon vadimUS to study the potential of its Garage Municipal in 2021. After a thorough analysis of the client’s needs, geographical location, and market data, a tailored nanogrid was suggested. The project which is still in development and will be finalized in 2023, consists of a 24 kW solar photovoltaic panel, a battery energy system storage with a 30 kW power and a 91 kWh capacity, as well as a 280 m2 of solar thermal collectors.

Impact & Result

  • Increased backup power capacity by 4 hours, ensuring operational continuity during outages.
  • Reduced natural gas consumption by 23,000 cubic meters annually, resulting in significant cost savings.
  • Decreased carbon emissions by 46 tons of CO2 equivalent each year, contributing to the company’s sustainability goals.

Solution Spotlight

Fluctuating energy costs, service interruptions and new building performance standards mean that the energy transition for companies with large real estate portfolios is one of the biggest challenges they've ever faced. vadiMAP has created a cutting-edge AI-powered solution streamlining the energy decarbonization roadmap of companies with real estate portfolios. A vadiMAP client simply need to embed their building portfolio in the vadiMAP platform, and with a minimum of building data, the platform can produce an energy digital twin of the building and simulate thousands of decarbonization scenarios to propose an optimal scenario for each building's needs. The platform thus provides the building's GHG inventory, energy efficiency recommendations, available financial incentives, estimated investment cost, payback period, annual savings, tons of CO2 saved annually, and more. vadiMAP offers a complete solution, so if the client wishes to proceed with a project following the recommendations, a pre-qualified project partner is proposed to execute the project, and sensors will be installed in the building to monitor project performance using the vadiMAP dashboard with KPIs.
