After years of discussions, TBS launched a groundbreaking collection in 2025, crafted in collaboration with UMORFIL© Bionic Yarn. This innovative line of shoes is made from sustainable materials sourced from the oceans and recycled human activities, including discarded fishing nets and plastic waste recovered from the sea. Additionally, the collection incorporates purely organic elements such as oysters, seaweed, and fish.
The unique process extracts collagen from fish scales, which are collected from organic waste generated by the fishing and food industries. This cutting-edge approach not only reduces waste but also transforms it into high-performance, sustainable materials for fashion and beyond.
UMORFIL® Technology (https://youtu.be/HKr5ZdwdEvo) using supramolecular technology to integrate collagen peptide amino acid upcycled from food waste (circular economy concept) with cellulose fiber (UMORFIL® Beauty Fiber®), polyester (UMORFIL® T) and nylon (UMORFIL® N6U®), create the bionic functional fiber series, so they will like silk and wool have some special properties, like the good hand feeling, higher moisture regain, nature deodorizing, anti-UV…etc. UMORFIL® Bionic Fiber series can protect marine ecology and avoid soil acidification as well as provide premium value for fabric and garment. Sparkles at skin friendly features, all of UMORFIL® materials passed the In Vitro skin irritation test. Well performance relates with denim, active wear, innerwear, home textile, wadding and shoes products.
