French Institute for Agronomic Research
Antibes
The French Institute for Agronomic Research (INRAe) called upon Solar-Cloth in 2021 to install their Solution in one of their greenhouses in the South of France. The implemen- tation consisted of thin film solar panels covering a surface of approximately 50 square meters integrated within foldable shaded curtains. When there is too much solar irradiation within the greenhouse, the shaded curtains deploy themselves and generate energy in addition to creating shadow for the plantation.
The innovative solution played a key role in boosting agricultural productivity, leading to a 13% increase in overall production. By effectively managing solar exposure and optimizing growing conditions, it significantly enhanced the efficiency and output of the agricultural processes.
Solar Cloth manufacture ultra flexible and thin film (less than 1 mm) solar panels aimed to be installed where other solar panels are not relevant and thus open a new market. It can be fixed on light building, textile areas (shade textile, tents...), trucks and small vehicles, boats, or be foldable and relevant for other usage like in greenhouses.
