In 2024, SoapShift introduced its innovative solid soap dispenser to a bustling Brussels restaurant that serves hundreds of meals each weekend. The restaurant sought an eco-friendly, efficient, and cost-effective handwashing solution, and SoapShift’s dispenser fit the bill perfectly. Our dispenser transforms solid soap into easy-to-use flakes, reducing waste and minimizing water usage compared to traditional liquid soap dispensers. Cost-effectiveness was a top priority for the restaurant, and our dispenser’s pricing, which is comparable to that of liquid soap, met their budgetary needs. Our design team is actively working on further enhancements to make the dispenser even more user-friendly and visually appealing. The SoapShift dispenser not only offers a streamlined, simplified refill process but also promotes a sustainable, eco-conscious choice that aligns with the restaurant’s environmental values by eliminating plastic waste and reducing chemical impact.
By eliminating single-use plastic containers, the restaurant has significantly reduced waste; previously, they purchased four 650ml plastic refills each week. Now, they can top up the dispenser when it’s only halfway used, whereas before, refills could only occur once it was fully empty. This flexibility allows the restaurant to manage refills on its own schedule, preventing service interruptions during peak hours, which helps maintain smooth operations and sales. With refills required four times less often, they also save time on handling and procurement.
SoapShift offers an innovative, eco-friendly solution for handwashing in shared spaces (restaurants, offices, hotels, public spaces, ....) by transforming solid soap into soft flakes. Unlike traditional liquid soap dispensers that rely on single-use plastics, preservatives, and are mostly water, SoapShift uses compact, preservative-free solid soap bars to minimize waste and lower the carbon footprint. One truck of solid soap provides the same number of handwashing doses as 14 trucks of liquid soap, drastically reducing emissions and environmental impact. By eliminating plastic waste and harmful chemicals, our solution protects both health and the planet, delivering a clean, effective, and easy handwashing experience that benefits users and the environment alike—making it an ideal choice for eco-conscious businesses.
