Littlehampton
Bouygues E&S, an Equans company, partnered with SMART Impulse to reduce energy consumption and support clients' carbon reduction plans through technology-driven solutions. This collaboration led to the installation of smart meter devices worldwide, including at The Body Shop sites. The first system was implemented at the Littlehampton site in February 2021, providing detailed usage insights and identifying areas for savings. SMART Impulse has since been installed in the new Body Shop London office on Tooley Street to meet B Corp accreditation requirements and effectively manage utility usage.
To date, SMART Impulse has been installed at 26 UK sites, delivering an average energy savings of 15% without requiring significant infrastructure changes. This impressive reduction in energy consumption has enabled a return on investment (ROI) in less than one year.
The solution can be installed by any electrician in less than 1 hour with no power interruption. Thanks to cutting edge algorithms, the Smart X identifies the power consumption of each type of equipment installed in the building. This can range from IT to ventilation to heating. These algorithms have been developed after nine years of intensive R&D. They recognize the specific signature (on high frequency measurements) of each type of equipment that consumes on an electrical network. Given the clear vision you get thanks to the Smart X, you can target and monitor energy savings over time. As a result, building managers can better understand their energy consumption.
